ISIR President Earl B Hunt: 1933-2016

Professor Earl “Buz” Hunt passed away peacefully early on April 13.
His wife, Mary Lou, passed on this sad information for us:
Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues of Buz Hunt:
Early this morning my husband and best friend, Earl “Buz” Hunt died peacefully in his sleep. He left this world snuggled next to me just as he has for the past 61 years of our marriage Buz was a brilliant scientist, devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He inspired all who knew him, gave much more than he took in life and leaves a legacy that will live on through his children, grandchildren, scientific contributions and the many people whose lives he touched for the better.
We are planning on having a memorial service for him at the University of Washington in the next few months and will contact you all once arrangements for this celebration of his life have been set. In the meantime, the family is so very grateful for all the prayers, encouragement and comfort many of you have provided us over the past few months. Buz left this world surrounded by love.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Earl and Mary Lou Hunt Graduate Fellowship at University of Washington, give to the University of Washington, or to the Alan J. Hunt Memorial Lecture fund at the University of Michigan.
